A NOTE TO MOTHERLAND

A NOTE TO MOTHERLAND

The day was green

You belonged no longer to Jack

The bands were fallen, freedom at last

Bracelets we were given

For the cake’s piece we lost it

With minerals of nature yet untapped

Talents unharnessed left to ruin

By men skilled in corruption ready to plunder

As they scamper abroad a pasture so green

Your glorious arrival heralded our doom

For our greed uncontained to the slaughter you were led

In greed we gather

Praying while preying

Paradise now a jungle

This house has fallen

The glory now a folklore

Ravished and abused

Again and again

By brothers and sisters who left you to ruin

This house has fallen

We’re no longer at ease
