REBIRTH

REBIRTH

Many seasons ago

On a rickety hill far away

A life was slain that I may live

For my heart to beat another was beaten

Many seasons ago

On that rugged cross far out on the hill

Was hung a man for a no-just cause

The pain and torture all borne for me

A sinless man, infinite and pure

Immortally divine yet was mortal for me

He bore my shame and his death was life

The Clarion call I yielded, what joy I feel

Freedom atlast, how sweet it tastes

Today we gather at His feet to glory

A solemn assembly, soberly rejoicing

A King whose death gave life to all

Even in death Christ reigns forever
