I struck a deal with the devil
The world was mine and mine to call
Its pomp and glam all heed my call
When men gathered, I stood a god
I shook hands with the devil today
To start a pact, my part I played
Ignoring the way, that narrow path
My fame stood tall, as more I gave
A pact is kept, and power grows still
I struck a deal with the devil
I never knew it would be so much evil
The power and glitz while yet remain
Happiness and peace still far from home
My soul is weary, it longs to rest
A quest for peace I journey uneasy
The fame and might I’ll give it all up
And pray my maker my thirst to quench
If only but I this peace could find
