Live life for the memories
In the end that’s all we are
The blunt truth; all I really needed
Tho I despised every sound
I heard;
I danced to the naked truth.
I found purpose today
With great joy I leaped
Like a little boy so excited
To see his father;
After so many nights away from home
While pleasure’s lies kept me bound.
That beautiful rose flower
With colors of sacrifice
And a radiance like no other
Love was all I saw; my mother’s love
The transition is a debt to we must pay
A wiseman said to me today.
Comfort me with these words
Give me solace; peace of mind
As I weep with the broken hearted
In celebration of a life well spent
Tears strolling down my cheeks.
Like the rains in the southern Nigeria.
I found purpose today.
I found the bitter truth
The unpleasant aroma from life’s pot
And I made the world a better place
I left it much better than I met it.
I found purpose today…
The sad truth.
