TRIBUTE TO MICHAEL JACKSON: UNFORGOTTEN

TRIBUTE TO MICHAEL JACKSON: UNFORGOTTEN

In the most unexpected place called Gary,

A star settled.

Unknown to the hosts,

Their breakthrough had just arrived.

Eighth was his number,

He was sure to bring them fortune and prosperity according to the Chinese.

A child star at five

Isolated from all childhood privileges

Trying not to mind the austere handling, he found ultimate solace in music.

Along with his brothers, he was never to look back again.

Not satisfied with their seeming accomplishments,

He sought to conquer more unchartered waters.

Your artistry brought healing to the weak

Your pop was “unpoppable”

No soul could compare,

Rhythm and blues found new expressions.

The Man in the mirror that healed the world in his own way

Bringing joy to people who couldn’t afford it.

With your genius,

Hopes were reignited,

Racial walls were broken.

With no spacesuit,

But in your military-style jacket, cropped trousers, a fedora, antigravity shoes, white socks, and sequined white gloves, you walked brilliantly on the Moon.

You broke all records,

Took all the Grammys,

And made them your footstool.

Thoroughly haunted, tormented, and chopped up by ghouls who feasted on your appearance and lifestyle.

Thinking their opinions mattered

You were labelled

Driven to have another like you.

Singlehandedly, you brought up three amazing little stars.

Destined for a comeback at 50,

You finally succumbed to the hands of death.

You were finally freed from the ghouls and ghosts

That was it!

A star forever gone, but not to be forgotten.

My tribute to you is not grief but of gratitude
