Dear lord,
Can we embrace the future without the pangs of hardship?
Could there be a room for equality?
For there is no glory in pain
If there is…what is our gain
Will I have to sell my soul
Just to get a bowl of rice
Can humanity stop the bickering
The self hate
The common will to dominate
Must we make a distinction only to segregate?
Life knows no skin colour
All alike die
The black struggle was born
Due to the betrayal of self
We sold our heritage
For shiny ornament
Our custodians made the call
But we gave it validity
Racial discrimination is an indication of our common failure.
As life is to creation
Death is to resurrection
All shall abide to cross into the realm of eternity
Wherein our true identity is revealed.
